Professor Pauliina Remes is a university lecturer in theoretical philosophy, Uppsala. Remes is a scholar of late ancient Platonism of international reputation. Her expertise within the project is the ancient philosophy of self, soul and its functions, agency, and more generally neoplatonic ethics as well as ancient moral psychology. Dr. Olof Pettersson defended his thesis on Plato’s notion of appetite in Uppsala 2013. Since then he has been postdoctoral fellow at the department of philosophy in Bergen (Norway) within a NFR-sponsored project on Plato and Poetry. Read more about Olof here..
Associate Professor Amber Carpenter of Yale-NUS College, Singapore (on leave from her position in York), specializes in Plato’s ethics, researching, among other things, the relevance of metaphysics for ethics. Carpenter is further the leader of the highly relevant Integrityproject.org that approaches the notion of integrity not only philosophically but also from the point of view of the history of philosophy, sociology, as well as in terms of political and literary theory.
